Relax and unwind in a warm tub

by specky on September 2, 2009

One of the best ways to relax and unwind for me is to lie in a warm tub. It takes the stress and slightly strained muscle aches away. Whenever I can, I would take a few minutes to shut out the world and lie in there with eyes closed and indulge in total relaxation.

I also like to add in some droplets of essential oils to add to the calming effect. For this purpose, I often use lavender oil for its relaxation properties.

I find this to be a great way to unwind after a long and tiring day, especially so after a lot of walking. It helps to soak your tired feet in warm water and what better way than to soak your entire tired body in warm water infused with aroma oils?

But becareful not to over-do this. I once soaked in a tub for far too long and got dizzy when I tried to get out of the tub. After that incident, I read and found out that we should not soak ourselves in warm tubs for more than 10 minutes. I did it for 45 minutes!

But it’s been a long while since I have gotten into a tub to relax simply because I no longer have a tub to use. Someday when the funds allow it, I would love to look into some walk in tubs and continue this method of relaxation.

What is your favourite way to relax after a long day?
