A H1N1 influenza death toll on the rise

by specky on August 13, 2009

It’s scary to be reading almost on a daily basis how the death rate is rising from the A H1N1 influenza. Before, it was quite remote and even when we had cases back in our country, they all seemed contained and the very few deaths that occurred didn’t shake us much.

But now, day after day the newspapers are reporting more deaths for the day and if we total all the deaths a week, the total number of people who died from this influenza can be quite substantial. Then we can’t continue to say that death rate is still low when expressed as a percentage of total people who have contracted the virus.

Stay alert of your surroundings and most important of all is to keep yourself healthy and maintain high level of hygiene. Do you know what is selling like hot cakes now, more so than the sale of diet pills these days? Surgical masks! Grab some just in case…you don’t want to risk it!
