Can ephedra really help to increase blood pressure?

by specky on July 9, 2009

I tend to have blood low pressure. Not that low but it could be better if it were higher. Sometimes it can get so low that it causes dizziness and it can be dangerous. I guess low and high blood pressure are equally dangerous when they go to the extreme sides.

There is no specific medication for low blood pressure so I was doing searches to see what are some of the natural remedies that can be taken to improve the condition. That’s when I came across a plant called ephedra which is traditionally used asĀ  herbal remedy to treat asthma and hay fever. It also helps to constrict the blood vessels and increase blood pressure.

I don’t know how effective it is but at least it’s a natural remedy. Other uses of ephedra is also as some slimming agent. But in recent years I think there was some controversy surrounding some ephedra diet pill in the market. So if you have heard too that this is an effective slimming agent, do read more about the side effects it could possibly have.

I would study more on this remedy as a way to increase blood pressure naturally and safely. Are there any other natural ways that you have heard that can help to increase blood pressure?
